notcom a.k.a semaphore has released a new version of TinyUmbrella (v6.10.01) to add support for iOS 6.1 that was released few hours back.
TinyUmbrella allows you to take backups of SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) that can be used to downgrade to older iOS versions even after Apple stops signing the iOS firmware file.
The latest version of TinyUmbrella also supports iOS 6.0.2 for iPhone 5 and iPad mini, but you won’t be able to save iOS 6.0.2 SHSH blobs as Apple stopped signing iOS 6.0.2 immediately after releasing iOS 6.1.
semaphore has provided the following details about the latest version of TinyUmbrella:
6.0.2 and 6.1 support for all relevant devices has been added. Sorry for the delay. I’m still working on the rewrite that will include auto updating and much cleaner code. I’ll post more details as I get closer to completion. I have a feeling I’ll be making at least some of the modules open source on either github or bitbucket.
Even though Apple has made things a lot more complicated when it comes to downgrading to the previous version with the help of SHSH blobs with the release of iOS 6.0, it is always a good practise for jailbreakers to take a backup of the SHSH blobs.
If you need help, then check out our step-by-step guide on how to save SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella.
As always, let us know how it goes.
